Meet the Blogger!

Thank you for joining me here in the blogosphere. When I ask myself why I decided to start this, I came up with a few things. First, I love to read. Like… I LOVE to read. If I could read all day I would do it. If someone would pay me to read? Well, that’s the dream isn’t it? In addition to reading a lot, I enjoy reflecting on what I read, and writing out my thoughts. I have an account on Instagram that allows me to do this, but I often feel like I have more to say and Instagram only gives you so much room. So, I’m taking it to the blogs!

Another interesting fact about me is that I have cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. I’m actually in respiratory failure. I use supplemental oxygen to help get me through the days and nights, and I take all kinds of medicines to try and manage my symptoms. This disease has taken so much from me, including the lives of friends and my brother, Sean. It is a devastating and ugly disease, but I continue to fight daily for myself and for the people I love. There is no cure for cystic fibrosis and it continues to take the lives of people across the globe. I will work to continue to spread awareness in hopes that some day there will be a cure. I mention this here because it impacts my daily life, and informs my perspective. In addition to prioritizing books that are written by BIPOC, I want to also prioritize books that have disability and illness representation. I believe my perspective is unique and would love to do more own voices reviews.

However you came to find me, I’m glad you’re here. šŸ™‚
